2023 CAMP IS OPEN!

We are proud to announce we will be hosting our annual Dean Cattle Camp to be held June 23-25, 2023 at the Grimes County Fairgrounds in Navasota, Texas. We look forward to educating a limited number of exhibitors of today’s youth of all skill levels, ages 6 to 18, must not have graduated, along with their parents during the two days.

 

Our goal every day at Dean Cattle Company is to educate, grow confidence and inspire!

LIABILITY INFORMATION

By submitting, consent is hereby given to Dean Cattle Company instructors and/or staff to give or seek medical aid required in the case of emergency. My child's photograph and name may appear in print ads, on website, on social media sites such as Facebook, or Dean Cattle Company publications.

Junior exhibitors of the Dean Cattle Camp are responsible for knowing and complying with all the rules of this camp.

 

The Dean Cattle Company, its officers, volunteers or employees, and any show affiliates and/or sponsors are not liable for any accidents, illness, theft, injury, or property damage. The exhibitor shall indemnify and hold harmless Dean Cattle Company against any and all legal or other proceedings in regard thereto, as well as any damage or injury to other person or property caused by the exhibitor, article, or any of the animals exhibited.   

 

WARNING

Under Texas Law (Chapter 87, Civil Practice and Remedies Code), a livestock show sponsor is not liable for an injury to or the death of a participant in a livestock show resulting from the inherent risk of livestock show activities.

Camp Overview:

Friday, June 23, 2023 barn will be open for early move-in starting a 5 pm, Camp will officially start Saturday morning.

 

Saturday will include show day readiness including nutrition, daily care, showmanship and educational seminars from industry leading experts, and individualized learning opportunities with their own show calf. The day will also include fun team building and leadership activities for the families to get to know one another. At the end of Saturday a $5 jackpot showmanship will take place to allow the exhibitors time to work with their calf and use the information they learned from the day to prepare for the scholarship showmanship on Sunday. Winners from the jackpot show will walk away with awards and jackpot money. 

 

On Sunday, we will start the day with Cowboy Church and one seminar, then go straight into the Scholarship Showmanship competition. There will be five division winners that will be awarded custom engraved show sticks and overall showmanship winners will receive scholarship money and award banners. Other awards include Most Improved Exhibitor, Most Improved Showman, Herdsman. Awards will be handed out during our Award Ceremony after the scholarship showmanship show on Sunday.

What is included:

The Camp $200 fee includes, entry for all scheduled learning sessions, 3 meals (Saturday lunch, dinner & Sunday breakfast), a welcome packet, filled with an Official Camp shirt, Camp Handbook and giveaway items, along with entry into the Sunday Scholarship Showmanship show. The Camp fee does not include the $5 cash gate entry fee for the jackpot showmanship on Saturday afternoon and $5 is to be paid at the gate. Each youth exhibitor must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Any non-participating family members will have the option to purchase meals at the time of submitting payment.

What you need to bring:

Each exhibitor will be required to bring one broke show heifer or steer and all supplies necessary for being at a weekend show, including show stick, number harness, show halter, and shavings. Due to limited space, we ask that each family limit the number of head to one per participating exhibitor. We have scheduled a show supply trailer to be on location for both Saturday and Sunday during the Camp. 

 

How to sign up:

Please complete the online registration form and submit Payment Submittal Form.

 

Camp registration will close Friday, May 5, 2023 or when we fill up. Registration forms will be accepted on a first come, first served basis with a limited number of spots available. In order to guarantee your exhibitor a spot, each family will need to complete the online Cattle Camp registration form (one registration form per exhibitor) and submit one Payment Submittal Form including all Cattle Camp Exhibitor fees and non-participating family member meal plan(s) and Official Cattle Camp T-Shirts and/or Official Cattle Camp Hats by check or credit card. Please allow us time to process payment requests in order as they are received.  

 

Please make checks payable to Dean Cattle Company and mail payment and Payment Submittal Form to Dean Cattle Company, PO Box 82 Industry, Texas 78944. Credit card payments can be processed by emailing us at deancattletx@gmail.com with the completed Payment Submittal Form, separate processing fee applies. Camp registration fees are non-refundable.

*The first 10 confirmed alternates payments will be held until after camp. In the likely event a spot becomes available and the alternate called on passes on the open spot, the payment will not be refunded.*
